The team did qualitative reserach on various onbaording patterns. While it gave us sufficient information around identifying suitable patterns based on usability and complexity of the feature, we wanted to understand how our users respond to these.

Video tour and Guided tour In-app onboarding patterns were implemented as part of two different features. The user behaviour on each was tracked to understand the usage pattern and preference.

Tracked the users who skipped, dropped off and completed the in-app onboarding to understand :

Onboarding-1

Video tour was used taking the complexity of the enrollement feature into consideration. i.e, the feature has workflows spanning across multiple screens.

Onboarding-2

Guided tour was used in QMtab configuration, which is a simpler single screen workflow will all the key CTAs and areas of interest are visible on a single screen.
